Free Rice!
Ok, sorry I lied. Well… no, not really. There is free rice involved but just not for YOU.
Hey don’t feel bad now. I don’t get any either and I love rice. Mmm shrimp fried rice sounds delish right now too! Mmm I know my favorite Chinese joint to get it too. Then again I could make some -ack! Right… back to the point.
Free Rice is a game to us but free rice to the hungry. Really. No joke. FUH-REE!!!
Originally Free Rice just had a vocabulary game. Where for each vocab word you got right, the website donates 20 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program. Now there are even more subjects that can be played than just the English Vocabulary.
If you are sometimes bored. Or like me, have insomnia and therefore can’t get to sleep right away, I simply go to Free Rice and click away. Even if you guess wrong, nothing happens. They don’t take rice away. But the more questions you get right, the more rice gets donated and at NO CHARGE TO YOU. Plus you’re actually learning in the process. If you have a teenager who is prepping for the SATs, have them hop on this site to practice, at least in the process they’ll also be feeding the hungry while working those brain muscles.
Treasure Trove Charity Event
So here’s a good cause for all you people over at Treasure Trove Charity.
This event supports 3 worthy and wonderful charities, 1. St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 2. The 3 Day Organization, and 3. Save the Quiet Kitty.
Yes I know. Money is tight right now. What with gas prices so high and as a result, EVERYTHING down to the very food we buy, has gotten more expensive.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuutttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt… if you can spare a 20 dollar bill -I dunno. Maybe not buy a Starbucks drink for a couple of days or eat in instead of eating out, mayhaps you can help out a tad or two.
As a result you could be eligible to win one of the 3 awesome trunks in the Sweet, Sassy, Sexy raffle. And each trunk is worth over $400. And if you are a BOOK LOVER like me… each trunk has oodles and oodles of books and goodies that any book fanatic would love to have. None the less, you might just take a look at what each trunk’s got to offer and maybe oogle at the nice things they have. *^_^*

Bitten By Books Review Teaser: Dark Tales 1: Vampyress

Dark Tales 1: Vampyress by Shannon Leigh
5 Tombstones
“What is a vampire supposed to do, when she’s stuck in a bar in the middle of a raging storm with no electricity? Especially when she is stuck with humans who have no clue how they are going to pass the time. Storytelling! Someone actually suggests they all share a story to make the time fly by and Vampyress Ivona Knight has been nominated to share the first tale….”

Lyda Writes…
Hullo. Welcome to my blog that is as of now… pathetically empty. That will however change as soon as I can get my lazy, procrastinating butt in gear.
During the day, I am a young wife and mother of an exuberant little baby boy, who even with dribble on his chin, looks handsome in my eyes. I am a complete Suzie-homemaker with an apron and everything. Would you like a cookie??? I also have Mother Teresa topped. My monster- ahhh I mean father-in-law lives with us and I haven’t killed anyone yet. I am also attending classes to get that nice little piece of paper with a shiny foil sticker on it called “a degree” that magically makes you more attractive to employers world wide.
During the night, I am book reviewer extraordinaire! Actually I am simply an avid reader of books who will share her honest opinion on books whether they are the most fantastic read you’ll be crappin’ out gold or the more horrendous story ever imaginable that you just lost a few hours of your life that you’ll never get back no matter how much you try to fight and sue for it. Either way my reviews and many others can be read here at Bitten by Books.
And this is my blogoverse.
